NSTP,1/12/2008, KUALA KRAI: Four employees of the Kelantan State Library Corporation were killed when their multi-purpose vehicle collided with an express bus at Km107 Jalan Kota Baru-Gua Musang yesterday.

Assistant librarian Anidah Mohamad, 55, driver Wan Mustafa Wan Mohamad, Nik Farah Shanih Nik Baihasan, 35, and Munirah Mohamad, 44, all died at the scene of the 4.20pm incident.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said the victims, who were from Kota Baru and Pasir, were returning to Kota Baru after attending a meeting in Kuala Lumpur.

"It is believed that their vehicle skidded into the opposite lane and crashed into the bus which was on its way from Kota Baru to Kuala Lumpur.

"All the victims were pinned to their seats." None of the 36 people onboard the bus were injured.
Rahim said the bodies of the victims were taken to the Kuala Krai Hospital for post-mortem. He said police had detained the driver of the bus and his assistant for questioning.
